Five design errors to avoid in your next kitchen Remodel, Part 2: Count the cost

August 17, 2009

Have you ever launched into a project without counting the cost? An ancient story tells of a man who went to build a strong tower. But after laying the foundation, he ran out of money. The crumbling foundation became a monument to the foolishness of the man who started building without counting the cost.

Much of consumer debt is a result of failure to count the cost. But would anyone today try to build or remodel a house without considering the cost – without defining a budget? Even if one has no idea what a project might cost, he/she would be wise to look at what they can afford to spend and then research whether or not the project can be completed.

Often potential customers come into our showroom not wanting to tell us their budget for fear we’ll jack the price up. Most, if not all kitchen designers are not used car salesmen. Knowing your budget helps us know what to show you. We have different brands, door styles and features, all affecting the price. Today, there are a myriad of options in every cabinet line. The real question is: What will give you the best bang for your buck?

When a customer tells us up front what they can afford to spend, we can design with their budget in mind. At Cabinets by Trivonna, we custom design cabinet packages to meet your needs, lifestyle and budget.
